2009-2014 leaders

Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw earned more Box-Toppers points than any other player over the past six seasons.

Kershaw has accumulated 129.6 Box-Toppers points from 2009 through 2014. He's led the Majors in Box-Toppers points three seasons (2011—26.1 points, 2013—21.7 points and 2014—31.5 points) and led National League pitchers in 2012 (20.8 points, finishing second overall).

Kershaw also led all players in Box-Toppers points over 2008-2013. Last year, he was ahead of second-place player (Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia, 93.6 Box-Toppers points) by only 8.5 points. Now, over 2009-2014, he holds a commanding 24.1-point lead over the second-place player on the list, Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez, who has 105.5 Box-Toppers points over the period.

Hernandez leads all American League players over the past six seasons, however, he has never led AL pitchers in any season. Here are his rankings among AL pitchers in recent seasons:

  • 2014—Third, 20.8 Box-Toppers points.
  • 2013—Eighth, 14.8.
  • 2012—Second, 18.7.
  • 2011—15th, 11.7.
  • 2010—Second, 20.4.
  • 2009—Third, 19.1.

Sabathia, who had led AL pitchers from 2008-2013 (93.6 Box-Toppers points) fell in the 2009-2014 rankings. He is in eighth place with 67.9 points.

Miguel Cabrera of the Tigers leads all American League batters in Box-Toppers points over the past six seasons. Cabrera has 72.6 points from 2009-2014. From 2008-2013, Cabrera ranked second among AL batters with 69.7 points, 0.1 points behind leader Albert Pujols of the Angels (69.8 points). This year, Pujols falls to second among AL batters from 2009-2014 with 62.1 Box-Toppers points.

Cabrera led AL batters in Box-Toppers points in 2013 with 16.9. In 2014, he was second among AL batters with 12.5. 

Ryan Braun of the Brewers leads all National League batters in Box-Toppers points during this six-season span. He has 56.5 Box-Toppers points. He also led NL batters from 2008-2013 with 63.0 Box-Toppers points.

Braun led NL batters in Box-Toppers points in 2012 with 12.5.
