Miguel Cabrera takes Box-Toppers points lead, while Indians' Scott Barnes is top player for Thursday, May 23

Indians pitcher Scott Barnes is Thursday's Player of the Day. Meanwhile, Miguel Cabrera of the Tigers takes the top spot in Box-Toppers points for the season after being Player of the Game two days in a row.

Barnes struck out four over three innings and earned the save in the 12-3 win over the Red Sox.

Cabrera is American League Batter of the Day. Cabrera homered and went 2-for-3 in the 7-6 win over the Twins. It is the second straight day Cabrera has been Player of the Game. Cabrera earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being AL Batter of the Day, giving him 9.7 for the season, putting him atop the player leader list (see updated list on the home page).

Pirates pitcher Jason Grilli is National League Player of the Day. Grilli earned the save in the 4-2 win over the Cubs.
