Nationals' Scherzer pitches no-hitter, tops players for Saturday, June 20, rises to 2nd in Box-Toppers player rankings

Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer, pitching a no-hitter, is Saturday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day and rises to second place in player rankings.

Also Saturday, Alex Rodriguez of the Yankees earned Player of the Game honors and now has 185.3 career Box-Toppers points, fourth among all players since 1995, first among batters since 1995 and extending his lead among active players.

Player of the Day—Scherzer had a perfect game through 8 2/3 innings when he hit a batter, allowing the game’s only baserunner, before retiring the final batter. Scherzer struck out 10 through nine innings, allowing no hits, runs or walks, in the 6-0 win over the Pirates.

Scherzer had a Box-Toppers game score Saturday of 19, which is the fourth-highest score for a Box-Toppers Player of the Game this season.
