Phillies pitcher Zack Wheeler is Saturday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Wheeler struck out eight over six scoreless innings, allowing two hits and no walks, in the 4-0 win over the Diamondbacks.

Wheeler earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 5.7 for the season, 22nd among all players and seventh among National League pitchers.

American League Player of the Day—Yankees pitcher Jordan Montgomery struck out five over seven scoreless innings, allowing five hits and no walks, in the 8-0 win over the Cubs.

Montgomery earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 2.7 for the season, 41st among AL pitchers.

Trout and teammate Shohei Ohtani both had +5.0 Box-Toppers game scores Saturday and both had very similar line scores. However, Trout edged Ohtani for Player of the Game because he hit two home runs vs. the one home run for Ohtani (HR 2B 3-4 3R 3BI).
