Reds pitcher Hunter Greene is Friday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Friday, two players rise in Box-Toppers season player rankings top 10 list after both earned Player of the Game honors: Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman rises to third place and Astros pitcher Hunter Brown rises to eighth place.

Player of the Day—Greene struck out 11 over six scoreless and hitless innings, allowing two walks, in the 9-0 win over the Cubs.

Greene exited after 110 pitches and the Reds lost the chance at a combined no-hitter in the eighth inning when reliever Eduardo Salazar gave up two hits.

Greene earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 3.0 for the season, 82nd among all players and 29th among National League pitchers.

Astros pitcher Hunter Brown is Friday’s Box-Toppers American League Player of the Day.

American League Player of the Day—Astros pitcher Hunter Brown struck out 10 over seven innings, allowing two runs, four hits and one walk, in the 5-2 win over the Athletics.

Brown earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 6.4 for the season, eighth among all players and seventh among AL pitchers.

Luis Garcia of the Nationals is Friday’s Box-Toppers National League Batter of the Day.

National League Batter of the Day—Luis Garcia of the Nationals doubled and went 6-for-6, scoring three times and driving in two runs, in the 12-10 win over the Royals.

Tim Anderson of the White Sox is Friday’s Box-Toppers American League Batter of the Day.

Rankings—Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman rises from fifth to third place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Friday.

Gausman (5.1IP 4H R 5BB 8K W in the 3-1 win over the Twins) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 8.0 for the season. He also ranks third among AL pitchers, trailing Shane McClanahan of the Rays (8.7) and Shohei Ohtani of the Angels (8.4).

Notable—Mets pitcher Max Scherzer now has 240.3 career Box-Toppers points—fourth-most since 1995—after earning Player of the Game honors Friday.

Scherzer (7IP 6H R 0BB 8K W in the 5-2 win over the Rockies) now trails Pedro Martinez (244.8 career points) by 4.5 points.
