Pirates pitcher Jared Jones is Saturday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Saturday, two players rise in Box-Toppers season player rankings top 10 list after both earned Player of the Game honors: Mariners pitcher Logan Gilbert rises to fourth place and Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow rises to fifth place.

Player of the Day

Jones struck out 10 over seven scoreless innings, allowing one hit and no walks, in the 1-0 win over the Rockies. Jones did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the game was in a scoreless tie when he exited.

Jones retired the first 12 Rockies he faced before giving up his only hit to open the fifth inning.

Jones earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 4.0 for the season, 23rd among all players and 12th among National League pitchers.

American League Player of the Day is Orioles pitcher John Means.
