Pirates pitcher Francisco Liriano, who led his team to a National League Wild Card Game win over the Reds, is Tuesday's Player of the Day.
Liriano gave up one run over seven innings in the 6-2 win over the Reds. The Pirates, by winning the one-game playoff, will face the Cardinals in the best-of-five NL Divisional Series beginning Thursday in St. Louis.
Liriano finished ninth in Box-Toppers player rankings for the season with 16.7 Box-Toppers points (see the top 10 list on the home page). He was sixth among NL pitchers and was the season leader in Box-Toppers points among Pirates players. No Box-Toppers points are awarded during the postseason.
