Player of the Day
Gore struck out 13 over six innings, allowing two runs, four hits and two walks, in the 12-11 win over the Rockies.
Gore earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 3.0 for the season, 17th among all players and ninth among National League pitchers.
American League Player of the Day
Red Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet struck out seven over six scoreless innings, allowing four his and two walks in the 4-3, 10-inning win over the White Sox. Crochet did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the White Sox tied the game after he exited.
Crochet earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 5.4 for the season, rising from eighth to first place in 2025 points, passing previous leader, Padres pitcher Nick Pivetta (5.0 points), who falls to second place. Crochet also rises to first place among AL pitchers, passing previous leader Logan Gilbert of the Mariners (4.7 points), who falls to second place.
This was Crochet’s third Player of the Game honor of the season. He also did it April 2 and April 13.
Crochet earned 10.7 Box-Toppers points in 2024 with the White Sox, 23rd among AL pitchers.
National League Batter of the Day
Trea Turner of the Phillies doubled and went 4-for-5, scoring twice and driving in two runs, in the 11-10 win over the Marlins.
American League Batter of the Day
Ramón Laureano of the Orioles hit two home runs and went 2-for-4, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 9-5 win over the Reds.
