For the ninth week in a row, the Chicago Cubs top Box-Toppers weekly team rankings report.

Also, the Texas Rangers top American League teams for the second week in a row and the Washington Nationals and the Toronto Blue Jays were the hottest teams of the past week.

Here are Box-Toppers' team rankings, through the games of Thursday, June 9. The column BTP shows the number of Box-Toppers points players on the team have accumulated so far this season. The column BTP/wk shows have many points teams have accumulated since Thursday, June 2. The column Wk ago shows the team's rank as of June 2.

Cubs players have accumulated 57.6 Box-Toppers points so far this season, but only 3.0 points in the past week. The Cubs also have baseball’s best record, though their winning percentage this week fell below .700 (.688).

The Cubs are led by pitcher John Lackey (9.4 Box-Toppers points), who this week passed pitcher Jake Arrieta (8.7) as top Cubs player this season. The Cubs’ top batter is Kris Bryant (3.5 points). Nineteen different Cubs players have earned Box-Toppers points so far this season.

The Rangers remain the top AL team for the second week with 50.2 Box-Toppers points, but fall from second to third among all teams. They picked up 5.0 points during the past week.

The Rangers are led by pitcher Colby Lewis (7.7 Box-Toppers points) who this week passed pitcher Cole Hamels (6.4) as Rangers top player this season. Top batter is Adrian Beltre (4.0 points). Eighteen different Rangers players have earned Player of the Game honors this season.

The Washington Nationals and Toronto Blue Jays both picked up 7.7 Box-Toppers points during the past week (June 10 to 16), more than any other team. The Nationals rose from fourth to second among all teams with 50.3 Box-Toppers points. The Blue Jays made the biggest jump from 11th to sixth place with 46.6 Box-Toppers points.

With the Blue Jays rising into Box-Toppers top 10 team rankings, one team dropped from the top 10 list—the Pittsburgh Pirates fell from eighth to 11th with 42.7 points, picking up 2.0 during the past week.

The Atlanta Braves remain in 30th and last place among all teams with 22.0 Box-Toppers points, picking up 3.5 points during the past week.
