Rankings—Indians pitcher Shane Bieber extended his lead in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Tuesday.
Bieber (6IP 4H 2R 3BB 10K W in the 4-2 win over the Twins) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 8.7 for the season. Bieber now takes a 2.7-point lead ahead of second-place player, Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer (6.0), meaning it will take at least two appearances for any player in the top 10 to catch or pass him.
Streak—Mitch Moreland of the Red Sox has now earned Box-Toppers points in 11 straight seasons after earning his first Player of the Game honor of 2020 Tuesday.
Moreland (2B 2-3 2R 2BI in the 9-7 win over the Blue Jays) earned his first points in 2010 with the Rangers and now has 32.2 career points, which ranks 23rd among active AL batters.
