Blue Jays pitcher Chris Bassitt is Wednesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Wednesday, Padres pitcher Nick Pivetta rises to first place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors.

Other Player of the Game winners Wednesday include Pirates pitcher Bailey Falter, Jackson Holliday of the Orioles and Rhys Hoskins of the Brewers.

Player of the Day

Bassitt struck out 10 over five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks, in the 3-1 win over the Braves.

Bassitt earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, his first points of the season and is 40th in season player rankings, 14th among American League pitchers.

National League Player of the Day is Pirates pitcher Bailey Falter.

Padres pitcher Nick Pivetta rises to first place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Wednesday.

Pivetta (6IP 4H R BB 6K W in the 4-2 win over the Cubs) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 5.0 for the season, rising from fourth to first place overall, passing previous leader, Mariners pitcher Logan Gilbert (4.7 points), who falls to second place. Gilbert had taken the lead Sunday.

Pivetta extends his lead among NL pitchers ahead of second-place Michael King of the Padres (3.4 points).

This is Pivetta’s third Player of the Game honor of 2025. He was also overall Player of the Day twice—March 30 and April 11—earning 2.0 points each time. Pivetta earned 9.7 points in 2024 with the Red Sox, 30th among AL pitchers.
