Angels pitcher Patrick Sandoval is Tuesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.
Also Tuesday, three players rise in Box-Toppers season player rankings top 10 list after earning Player of the Game honors—Giants pitcher Carlos Rodon rises to fourth place, Mariners pitcher Logan Gilbert rises to eighth and Mets pitcher Chris Bassitt rises to 10th.
Player of the Day—Sandoval struck out nine over seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk, in the 4-1 win over the Guardians.
Sandoval earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 3.0 for the season, 14th among all players and third among American League pitchers, behind teammate Shohei Ohtani (5.0) and Logan Gilbert of the Mariners (4.0).
National League Player of the Day—Willy Adames of the Brewers hit two home runs—including a three-run shot—and doubled, in the 12-8 win over the Pirates. Adames went 4-for-5, scoring twice and driving in seven runs.
Adames earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and ranks fifth among NL batters.
American League Batter of the Day—Anthony Rizzo of the Yankees hit three home runs, including a three-run shot, going 3-for-4, scoring four times and driving in six runs, in the 12-8 win over the Orioles.
Rizzo earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being AL Batter of the Day, giving him 2.5 for the season, fifth among AL batters.
National League Batter of the Day—There is no separate NL Batter of the Day for Tuesday because the overall NL Player of the Day is batter Willy Adames.

Giants pitcher Carlos Rodon (6IP 3H R 2BB 9K W in the 8-2 win over the Athletics) rises from eighth to fourth place with 4.0 Box-Toppers points, third among NL pitchers, behind Tylor Megill of the Mets (4.7) and Joe Musgrove of the Padres (4.0). (Musgrove ranks ahead of Rodon because he had more 2021 Box-Toppers points—16.1 vs. 11.7.)
Mariners pitcher Logan Gilbert (5.2IP 2H 0R 3BB 7K W in the 8-4 win over the Rays) rises from ninth to sixth place with 4.0 Box-Toppers points, second among AL pitchers behind Ohtani (5.0).
Mets pitcher Chris Bassitt (6IP 2H 0R 3BB 6K W in the 3-0 win over the Cardinals) rises to 10th place with 3.0 Box-Toppers points, sixth among NL pitchers.
