Red Sox pitcher Kutter Crawford is Monday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.
Crawford struck out eight over 5 1/3 scoreless middle relief innings, allowing two hits and one walk, in the 4-0 win over the Rays.
Crawford earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 3.0 for the season, 183rd among all players and 58th among American League pitchers.
National League Player of the Day—Brewers pitcher Eric Lauer struck out nine over six innings, allowing one run, two hits and two walks, in the 5-2, 10-inning win over the Cubs. Lauer did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the Brewers trailed when he exited.
Lauer earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 8.4 for the season, 17th among all players and ninth among NL pitchers.
National League Batter of the Day—Daulton Varsho of the Diamondbacks went 3-for-4, scoring once and driving in three runs, in the 8-3 win over the Giants.
