Cubs pitcher Marcus Stroman is Monday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day, rising to ninth in season player rankings.

Also Monday, Aaron Judge of the Yankees rises to sixth place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning American League Batter of the Day honors.

Player of the Day—Stroman pitched a complete-game, one-hit shutout, striking out eight and walking one, in the 1-0 win over the Rays.

Stroman did not allow a hit until the seventh inning and only allowed three total baserunners, throwing 105 pitches.

Stroman’s +15.0 Box-Toppers game score Monday ranks 11th among all 2023 Player of the Game winners.

Stroman earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 6.7 for the season, ninth among all players and second among National League pitchers, behind Zac Gallen of the Diamondbacks (7.7).

Guardians pitcher Logan Allen is Monday’s Box-Toppers American League Player of the Day.

American League Batter of the Day—Aaron Judge of the Yankees hit two home runs, doubled and went 3-for-4, scoring three times and driving in three runs, in the 10-4 win over the Mariners.

Judge earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being AL Batter of the Day, giving him 7.5 for the season, sixth among all players and second among AL batters, behind Shohei Ohtani of the Angels (8.4). (Ohtani has earned five of his seven Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors this season as a starting pitcher, but still qualifies to rank among batters.)

Patrick Bailey of the Giants is Monday’s Box-Toppers National League Batter of the Day.

National League Batter of the Day—Patrick Bailey of the Giants homered, doubled and went 3-for-5, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 14-4 win over the Pirates.

This was Bailey’s Box-Toppers debut, his first career Player of the Game honor. Bailey made his Major League debut May 19 and was playing in his ninth career game.

Athletics pitcher Lucas Erceg is Box-Toppers Player of the Game in Monday’s win over the Braves.
