Athletics pitcher Chris Bassitt is Thursday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Bassitt pitched a complete-game, two-hit shutout, striking out nine and walking one, in the 5-0 win over the Angels.

Bassitt earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 6.0 for the season, 13th in season player rankings and fourth among American League pitchers.

National League Player of the Day—Reds pitcher Sonny Gray struck out five over six scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk, in the 3-0, seven-inning win over the Nationals.
