Meanwhile, the Chicago White Sox maintain the lead among American League teams and the St. Louis Cardinals are the week’s hottest team.

The Yankees maintained their overall fifth-place ranking this week, picking up 5.2 points in the past week.
The White Sox are tied for the fourth-best winning percentage among AL teams (.562), behind the Tampa Bay Rays (.614), the Houston Astros (.595) and the Boston Red Sox (.575) and tied with the Yankees (.562). The Rays are ninth in Box-Toppers team rankings (108.5 Box-Toppers points), the Astros are eighth (110.0), the Red Sox are seventh (111.2) and the Yankees are fifth (112.8).
The White Sox are led by pitchers Lance Lynn and Dylan Cease, both with 12.4 Box-Toppers points. Lynn is seventh among AL pitchers and Cease is ninth. The St. Louis Cardinals are the week’s hottest team, gaining 8.5 Box-Toppers points in the past week, most of any team, rising from 17th to 16th in team rankings with 96.9 points. The Cardinals won all seven games they played this week and are on a 12-game winning streak.
The Houston Astros had the biggest jump in team rankings this week, climbing three spots from 11th to eighth place with 110.0 Box-Toppers points, picking up 5.5 in the past week.
The San Diego Padres had the biggest decline in team rankings this week, falling five spots from sixth to 11th place with 106.1 points, with a net decline of 1.0 point. The Padres won only one of the six games they played this week but also released pitcher Jake Arrieta, who had earned 2.0 Box-Toppers points earlier this season when he was with the Cubs. The Padres were last week’s hottest team.
The Chicago Cubs maintained 30th and last place this week with 46.5 Box-Toppers points, picking up 1.0 point in the past week.
