Pirates pitcher Andrew Heaney is Wednesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day, rising to third place in season player rankings.
Also Wednesday, Pete Crow-Armstrong of the Cubs wins National League Batter of the Day honors for the second straight day. Other Player of the Game winners Wednesday include Tigers pitcher Reese Olson and J.P. Crawford of the Mariners.
Player of the Day
Heaney struck out nine over six scoreless innings, allowing one hit and no walks, in the 3-0 win over the Angels.
Heaney earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 5.0 for the season, rising to third place in season player rankings, behind Padres pitcher Nick Pivetta (6.0 points) and Red Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet (5.4 points). Heaney ranks second among NL pitchers behind Pivetta.
American League Player of the Day
Tigers pitcher Reese Olson struck out seven over 7 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk, in the 6-0 win over the Padres.
Olson earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 2.7 for the season, 13th among AL pitchers.

National League Batter of the Day
Pete Crow-Armstrong of the Cubs hit a three-run home run and went 3-for-4, scoring once and driving in four runs, in the 7-6 win over the Dodgers.
Crow-Armstrong earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being NL Batter of the Day, giving him 4.0 for the season, 11th among all players and third among NL batters, behind Pete Alonso of the Mets (4.5 points) and Carson Kelly of the Cubs (4.5 points).
This is the second straight day Crow-Armstrong has won NL Batter of the Day honors after he did it Tuesday (HR 2B 3-5 2R 3BI in the 11-10, 10-inning win over the Dodgers).
American League Batter of the Day
J.P. Crawford of the Mariners hit a three-run home run and went 2-for-4, scoring once and driving in four runs, in the 8-5 win over the Red Sox.
Notable
Trevor Larnach of the Twins won Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors for the second straight day Wednesday.
Larnach (HR 2-3 R 2BI in the 6-3 win over the White Sox) was also Player of the Game Tuesday in the 4-2 win over the White Sox (HR 1-3 2R 2BI).
Larnach has 2.0 Box-Toppers points in 2025, all earned in the past two days, and ranks seventh among AL batters.
