Royals pitcher Seth Lugo is Friday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Friday, Rays pitcher Shane Baz rises to 10th place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors. Other Player of the Game winners Friday include Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, Byron Buxton of the Twins and Eli White of the Braves.

Player of the Day

Lugo struck out eight over eight scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk, in the 2-0 win over the Astros.

Lugo earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and is 53rd in season player rankings, 19th among American League pitchers.

Lugo earned 14.1 Box-Toppers points in 2024 with the Royals, seventh among AL pitchers.

National League Player of the Day is Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes.

American League Batter of the Day is Byron Buxton of the Twins.
