Cubs pitcher Matthew Boyd is Saturday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Saturday, Tyler O'Neill of the Orioles rises to second place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after becoming the first player to earn Player of the Game honors three times in 2025.

Boyd struck out five over six scoreless innings, allowing five hits and one walk, in the 7-1 win over the Padres.

Boyd earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, his first points of the season and is 17th in season player rankings. Tyler O'Neill of the Orioles rises to second place in Box-Toppers season player rankings Saturday after becoming the first player to earn Player of the Game honors three times in 2025.

O'Neill (3B 2B 2-3 R 2BI in the 8-1 win over the Royals) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 3.0 for the season. He ranks second behind Aaron Judge of the Yankees, who also has 3.0 Box-Toppers points, but ranks ahead of O'Neill because he has more 2024 points—13.0 vs. 4.2.

O'Neill also earned Player of the Game honors March 27 and March 31.
