Also Tuesday, Mariners pitcher Luis Castillo rises to first place in season player rankings after earning American League Player of the Day honors. Yandy Diaz of the Rays also rises to second place in season player rankings after earning AL Batter of the Day honors.

Also Friday, Rays pitcher Tyler Glasnow rises to 10th place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors.

The honors for the 2018 season were awarded Monday by the Baseball Writers Association of America. The Internet Baseball Writers Association of America also named both as top rookies for 2018 on Monday.
