The Houston Astros rocketed to a huge lead in Box-Toppers team rankings this week, mainly due to acquiring Zack Greinke and other players at the July 31 trade deadline.
The Astros lead for the second week, but last week’s narrow lead has exploded to an enormous lead this week, as they gained the most Box-Toppers points of any team in the past week.

Richards struck out eight over six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks, in the 2-1, 10-inning win over the Nationals. Richards did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the Nationals tied the game after he exited.

Also Wednesday, Astros pitcher Justin Verlander rises to seventh place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning American League Player of the Day honors. Plus, Mookie Betts of the Red Sox rises to 10th place in player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors.
