American League Player of the Day—Athletics pitcher Jesse Chavez pitched eight scoreless innings and struck out six in the 3-0 win over the Yankees.

National League Batter of the Day—Martin Maldonado of the Brewers hit a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 17th inning in the 7-6 win over the Diamondbacks. Maldonado also hit two doubles, went 4-for-6, scored three times and drove in two runs.

American League Batter of the Day—Steven Souza Jr. of the Rays homered and hit two doubles, going 3-for-5, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 9-5 win over the Orioles.
