Again, Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez leads Box-Toppers player rankings. He has now led for eight straight weeks.

All other category leaders from last week continue their leads this week. However, last year’s overall leader, Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw, makes his debut in player rankings top 10 lists for 2015—he is now seventh among National League pitchers.

Hernandez has 12.4 Box-Toppers points to lead all players. He has led all players all but six days this season.

Pirates pitcher Gerrit Cole leads NL pitchers with 11.0 Box-Toppers points. Cole fell from second to third among all players since last week.

Last year’s NL pitching leader, Clayton Kershaw, made his debut among the top 10 NL pitchers. He’s in seventh place with 7.0 Box-Toppers points. Last year, Kershaw led all players with 31.5 Box-Toppers points, the fourth-highest single-season total since record keeping began in 1995. Kershaw has also led all players in Box-Toppers points three of the past four seasons.

Prince Fielder of the Rangers continues to lead American League batters in Box-Toppers points with 6.5. Fielder falls from 14th place among all players to 17th place.

Bryce Harper of the Nationals continues to lead NL batters with 6.5 Box-Toppers points. Harper falls from 15th place among all players to 17th place.

There are no batters among the top 10 overall players.

So far this season, 447 different players have earned Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors. There are 166 players who have more than 2.0 Box-Toppers points.

About Box-Toppers—Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. In regular season games, players earn 1.0 Box-Toppers point for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
