What are those numbers after players' names?

All four category leaders remained the same from last week, in addition to deGrom leading National League pitchers.

American League pitching leader—Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez, 15.4 Box-Toppers points, ranked third among all players.

American League batting leader—Mike Trout of the Angels, 10.0 Box-Toppers points, ranked 22nd among all players.

National League batting leader—Randal Grichuk of the Cardinals, 9.5 Box-Toppers points, ranked 24th among all players.

Yoenis Cespedes of the Mets now ranks second among NL batters with 8.2 Box-Toppers points. In last week’s player rankings report, Cespedes, then with the Tigers, had 6.7 Box-Toppers points and ranked seventh among AL batters. Cespedes was traded July 31.

So far this season, 615 different players have earned Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors. There are 283 players who have more than 2.0 Box-Toppers points.

About Box-Toppers—Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. In regular season games, players earn 1.0 Box-Toppers point for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
