Meanwhile, Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer is the new leader this week among National League pitchers and Aaron Judge of the Yankees is the new leader among American League batters.

Sale also passes previous leader among AL pitchers, Ervin Santana of the Twins (6.7 Box-Toppers points), who ranks second among AL pitchers and second among all players. While Sale and Santana both have 6.7 points, Sale ranks ahead because he had more 2016 points (13.4 vs. 4.0).
Scherzer rises to lead NL pitchers in points with 6.0, third among all players. He passes previous NL pitching leader Kershaw (6.0 points). While Scherzer and Kershaw both have 6.0 points, Scherzer ranks ahead because he has more 2016 points (25.7 vs. 24.4).
Judge rises to lead AL batters in points with 5.0 Box-Toppers points, passing previous leader Logan Morrison of the Rays (3.2 points), who falls to fourth. Judge ranks ninth among all players.
The Box-Toppers points leader among NL batters remains the same as last week—Bryce Harper of the Nationals leads with 4.0 Box-Toppers points.
So far this season, 296 different players have earned Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors. There are 51 players who have more than 2.0 Box-Toppers points. There are 28 players who have made their Box-Toppers debut so far this season, the first time in their career they earned Player of the Game honors. Seven players debuted during the past week.
