Braves' Matt Adams tops players for Monday, June 12; White Sox' Petricka tops AL players

Matt Adams of the Braves is Monday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

American League Player of the Day—White Sox pitcher Jake Petricka pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless middle relief, allowing one hit, no walks and striking out four, in the 10-7 win over the Orioles.

American League Batter of the Day—Nelson Cruz of the Mariners doubled and went 2-for-3, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 14-3 win over the Twins.

National League Batter of the Day—There is no separate NL Batter of the Day for Monday because the overall Player of the Day is NL batter Matt Adams.
