Player of the Day—Mengden pitched a complete-game, two-hit shutout, striking out five and walking none, in the 3-0 win over the Diamondbacks.

National League Player of the Day—Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola struck out 10 over 6 2/3 innings, allowing one run, one hit and three walks, in the 2-1 win over the Blue Jays. Nola picked up a no-decision and did not earn the win because the game was tied, 1-1, when he exited.

American League Batter of the Day—Mike Trout of the Angels homered and hit three doubles, going 5-for-5, scoring three times and driving in four runs, in the 11-4 win over the Yankees.

National League Batter of the Day—Christian Yelich of the Brewers tripled, doubled and went 3-for-5, scoring three times and driving in three runs, in the 17-6 win over the Mets.
