Box-Toppers’ AL Division Series previews: Rays vs. Astros, Twins vs. Yankees

Both American League Division Series begin Friday.

The AL Wild Card champion Tampa Bay Rays face the AL West champion Houston Astros in one best-of-five game series and the AL Central champion Minnesota Twins take on the New York Yankees, champions of the AL East, in the other series.

AL Division Series, Game 1: Rays at Astros

The Rays rank sixth in Box-Toppers team rankings (123.2 Box-Toppers points), while the Astros rank first (158.1 points).

The Astros finished the season stronger than the Rays, picking up 10.0 Box-Toppers points in the final 10 days of the season, while the Rays picked up 6.7.

Rays top batter is catcher Travis d'Arnaud, who earlier in 2019 was with the Mets and the Dodgers, but who earned all 6.2 of his 2019 Box-Toppers points with the Rays. d’Arnaud ranks 134th among all players and 25th among AL batters.

The Astros top batter is Alex Bregman with 10.0 Box-Toppers points, 48th among all players and fifth among AL batters.
