Bellinger—Cody Bellinger of the Dodgers rises to lead NL batters in 2019 Box-Toppers points after earning Player of the Game honors Thursday.
Bellinger (HR 2B 2-3 2R 3BI in the 8-2 win over the Padres) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 10.2 for the season, most among the 10 who earned Player of the Game honors Thursday. He also rises to first place among NL batters, passing previous leader Josh Bell (9.7). Bellinger now ranks 16th among all players.
Bellinger becomes the 18th player—and first batter—to reach 10 Box-Toppers points this season. It is his first season with 10 or more points. In 2017, he had 8.7 points, 10th among NL batters. In 2018, he had no points. In 2018, there were 52 players with 10 or more points, including just five batters.

While they both have the the same Box-Toppers point total, Bregman ranks ahead because he has more 2018 Box-Toppers points, 6.2 vs. 3.0. Bregman ranks 33rd among all players.
Debut—Marlins pitcher Jeff Brigham made his Box-Toppers debut Thursday with his first career Player of the Game honor.
Brigham (2IP 0H 0R 0BB 2K W in the 5-4, 12-inning win over the Twins) made his Major League debut Sept. 2, 2018, and was playing in his 14th career game.
