Bryce Harper of the Phillies is Box-Toppers Player of the Day in Wednesday’s final spring training game.
Harper hit two home runs, including a three-run shot, in the 9-2 win over the Rays. Harper went 2-for-2, scoring twice and driving in four runs.
Harper would have earned 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day if if this were a regular season game. Because it’s a preseason exhibition game, no Box-Toppers points are awarded.
Harper earned 5.5 Box-Toppers points in 2021, 28th among National League batters and 10th among NL outfielders. He was voted NL Most Valuable Player in 2021.
This is Harper’s second Player of the Game honor of the spring training season. He was also Player of the Game March 27.
The Phillies-Rays game was the only spring training game completed on the final day before the start of the regular season Thursday.
