Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola is Wednesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Wednesday, Marlins pitcher Sandy Alcantara rises to fourth place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors.

Player of the Day—Nola struck out six over eight scoreless innings, allowing four hits and no walks, in the 10-0 win over the Brewers.

Nola earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 4.0 for the season, 53rd among all players and 22nd among National League pitchers.

American League Player of the Day—Guardians pitcher Shane Bieber struck out six over 4 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and no walks, in the 4-0 win over the Rangers.

Bieber did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because he did not pitch the required five innings to earn the win. He was removed from the game after a long rain delay.

Bieber earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 4.7 for the season, 17th among AL pitchers.

National League Batter of the Day—Jake Cronenworth of the Padres hit a three-run homer and doubled in the 13-2 win over the Mets. Cronenworth went 3-for-4, scoring three times and driving in five runs.

Rankings—Marlins pitcher Sandy Alcantara rises to from ninth to fourth place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Wednesday.

Alcantara (9IP 6H R 0BB 6K ND in the 2-1, 10-inning win over the Nationals) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 8.7 for the season, rising to second among NL pitchers, behind Joe Musgrove of the Padres (8.7).
