Astros pitcher Jose Urquidy is Wednesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.
Also Wednesday, two players in Box-Toppers season player rankings top 10 list earned Player of the Game honors. Marlins pitcher Sandy Alcantara maintains his fourth-place ranking and extends his lead among National League pitchers. Plus, Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias rises to seventh place in season player rankings.
Player of the Day—Urquidy struck out 10 over seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and no walks, in the 6-1 win over the Red Sox.
Urquidy earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 6.0 for the season, 65th among all players and 27th among American League pitchers.
National League Player of the Day—Padres pitcher Blake Snell struck out nine over six innings, allowing one run, four hits and no walks, in the 9-1 win over the Rockies.
Snell earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 5.7 for the season, 31st among NL pitchers.
National League Batter of the Day—Bryan Reynolds of the Pirates hit a walk-off homer and went 3-for-4, scoring three times and driving in one run, in the 8-7 win over the Brewers.
American League Batter of the Day—Eugenio Suarez of the Mariners hit a three-run homer and went 1-for-4, scoring once and driving in three runs, in the 7-3 win over the Yankees.

Alcantara—Marlins pitcher Sandy Alcantara maintains his fourth-place spot in Box-Toppers season player rankings—extending his lead among NL pitchers—after earning Player of the Game honors Wednesday.
Alcantara (CG 6H 0R BB 3K W in the 3-0 win over the Reds) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 15.4 for the season. He extends his lead among NL pitchers over second-place Max Fried of the Braves (13.0 points).
Urias—Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias rises from 10th to seventh place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Wednesday.
Urias (6IP 7H 0R 0BB 6K W in the 3-0 win over the Giants) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 12.7 for the season. He rises to third among NL pitchers, behind Sandy Alcantara of the Marlins (15.4) and Max Fried of the Braves (13.0).
