Kyle Tucker of the Astros is Monday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.
Tucker hit a grand slam, doubled and went 4-for-4, scoring three times and driving in four runs, in the 12-11 win over the Rangers.
Tucker earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 5.5 for the season, 56th among all players and fifth among American League batters.
National League Player of the Day
Xander Bogaerts of the Padres hit a three-run homer, doubled and went 3-for-3, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 10-3 win over the Angels.
Bogaerts earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and is 77th among NL batters.
Bogaerts has now also earned Box-Toppers points in 10 straight seasons with his first Player of the Game honor of 2023. He earned his first points in 2014 with the Red Sox and now has 43.9 career points, 16th among active NL batters, first among active NL shortstops, ahead of Brandon Crawford of the Giants (38.2).
Bogaerts’ best season was 2021 with the Red Sox, when he had 8.5 points, fifth among AL batters. In 2022, he had 7.0 Box-Toppers points with the Red Sox, ninth among AL batters.
