Also Sunday, Mariners pitcher Logan Gilbert regained the lead in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors.

In addition, three other players rose in Box-Toppers season player rankings top 10 list after each earned Player of the Game honors—Padres pitcher Michael King rose to sixth place, Royals pitcher Cole Ragans rose to seventh place and Reds pitcher Hunter Greene rose to eighth place.

Player of the Day

Crochet struck out 11 over 7 1/3 innings, allowing one run, one hit and one walk, in the 3-1 win over the White Sox.

Crochet took a no-hitter into the eighth inning, giving up his only hit with one out in the inning on his 96th and final pitch.

Crochet earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 3.7 for the season, rising to fourth among all players and second among American League pitchers, behind Logan Gilbert of the Mariners (4.7), who was also a Player of the Game winner Sunday.

This was Crochet’s third Player of the Game honor of the season. He also did it March 21 and April 2.

Crochet earned 10.7 Box-Toppers points in 2024 with the White Sox, 23rd among AL pitchers.

National League Player of the Day is Padres pitcher Michael King.

National League Player of the Day

Padres pitcher Michael King pitched a complete-game, two-hit shutout, striking out eight and walking one, in the 6-0 win over the Rockies.

King earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 3.4 for the season, sixth among all players and second among NL pitchers, behind Nick Pivetta of the Padres (4.0).

This is King’s second NL Player of the Day honor of the season. He also did it April 1. King earned 12.7 Box-Toppers points in 2024, 12th among NL pitchers.

National League Batter of the Day is Jung Hoo Lee of the Giants.

Jung Hoo Lee of the Giants hit two home runs, including a three-run homer, going 2-for-3, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 5-4 win over the Yankees.

Lee earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being NL Batter of the Day, giving him 2.5 for the season, sixth among NL batters.

American League Batter of the Day

There is no AL Batter of the Day for Sunday because no AL batter won Player of the Game honors in the 15 games completed.

Mariners pitcher Logan Gilbert regains the lead in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Sunday.

Gilbert (5IP 3H R BB 7K W in the 3-1 win over the Rangers) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 4.7 for the season, rising from third to first place overall, passing previous leader Pete Alonso of the Mets (4.5), who falls to second place.

Gilbert maintains his lead among AL pitchers, now ahead of second-place Garrett Crochet of the Red Sox (3.7 points), who was Sunday’s overall Player of the Day.

This is Gilbert’s third Player of the Game honor of the season. He also did it March 27 and April 7. He previously led Box-Toppers season player rankings from March 27 to April 1 and from April 7 to April 10.
