Scherzer (6.1IP 3H 2R 2BB 8K W in the 12-4 win over the Pirates) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 7.7 for the season, passing previous leader, Yankees pitcher Luis Severino. (While Severino also has 7.7 points on the season, Scherzer ranks ahead because he had more 2017 Box-Toppers points—25.0 vs. 21.1.)
