Also Monday, Diamondbacks pitcher Patrick Corbin rises to 10th place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors.

Player of the Day—Chacin struck out nine over 5 2/3 innings, allowing one run, two hits and no walks, in the 6-1 win over the Nationals.

Chacin earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 8.0 for the season, 12th among National League pitchers.

American League Player of the Day—Red Sox pitcher Rick Porcello pitched six scoreless innings, allowing six hits, one walk and striking out six, in the 5-3 win over the Orioles.

American League Batter of the Day—Matt Chapman of the Athletics hit a three-run homer and went 3-for-5, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 15-3 win over the Rangers.

National League Batter of the Day—Josh Harrison of the Pirates hit a three-run homer and went 2-for-3, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 7-0, rain-shortened, six-inning win over the Indians.

Rankings—Diamondbacks pitcher Patrick Corbin rises to 10th place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Monday.

Corbin (7IP 6H R 0BB 9K W in the 7-1 win over the Cubs) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 12.0 for the season. He ranks third among NL pitchers, behind Max Scherzer of the Nationals (16.4) and Aaron Nola of the Phillies (14.4).

Notable—Box-Toppers season player rankings leader Luis Severino failed to add to his lead as his Yankees lost Monday.
