Seven of the 11 top runs batted in leaders were among their league’s top 10 batters in Box-Toppers points in 2019.

However, overall RBI leader Anthony Rendon of the Nationals ranked outside the top 10 National League batters in Box-Toppers points. Rendon, who led with 126 RBIs, had 5.0 Box-Toppers points in 2019, 32nd among NL batters and 169th among all players. Rendon, in fact, had the lowest Box-Toppers point total among all 11 RBI leaders, even though he had the most RBIs.

Likewise, Jose Abreu of the White Sox, who led American League players in RBIs with 123 (second among all players) also ranked outside the top 10 AL batters in Box-Toppers points with 7.5—he ranked 15th among AL batters and 98th among all players.

Here are the seven top 11 RBI leaders who ranked among their league’s top 10 batters in Box-Toppers points in 2019, in order of their overall Box-Toppers points rankings:

  • Cody Bellinger of the Dodgers was tied for 10th in RBIs (115) and had 11.2 Box-Toppers points, third among NL batters and 35th among all players.

  • Freddie Freeman of the Braves ranked third in RBIs (121) and had 10.2 Box-Toppers points, fourth among NL batters and 43rd overall.

  • Jorge Soler of the Royals was tied for seventh in RBIs (117) and had 10.2 Box-Toppers points, fourth among AL batters and 44th overall.

  • Josh Bell of the Pirates ranked ninth in RBIs (116) and had 9.7 Box-Toppers points, fifth among NL batters and 56th overall.

  • Rafael Devers of the Red Sox was tied for 10th in RBIs (115) and had 9.5 Box-Toppers points, sixth among AL batters and 57th overall.

  • Nolan Arenado of the Rockies was tied for fifth in RBIs (118) and had 9.0 Box-Toppers points, sixth among NL batters and 62nd overall.

  • Eduardo Escobar of the Diamondbacks was tied for fifth in RBIs (118) and had 8.0 Box-Toppers points, 10th among NL batters and 84th overall.

Just two of the top 11 RBI leaders ranked outside the overall top 100 players—overall RBI leader Rendon, as previously mentioned, and Pete Alonso of the Mets, whose 120 RBIs ranked fourth overall, but whose 7.0 Box-Toppers points ranked 119th overall, 17th among NL batters.
