Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah is Monday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.
Manoah struck out seven over six scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk, in the 11-1 win over the Orioles.
Manoah earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 5.0 for the season, 38th among all players and 16th among American League pitchers.
National League Player of the Day—Padres pitcher Yu Darvish struck out seven over eight innings, allowing one run, five hits and no walks, in the 4-1 win over the Cubs.
Darvish earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 7.1 for the season, 11th among all players and fifth among NL pitchers.
Darvish also now has 114.3 career Box-Toppers points, 58th among all players since 1995, when Box-Toppers tracking began. American League Batter of the Day—Jose Abreu of the White Sox hit two home runs and went 3-for-4, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 9-5 win over the Tigers.
National League Batter of the Day—Dylan Carlson of the Cardinals hit a three-run homer, doubled and went 2-for-4, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 7-5 win over the Pirates.
Notable—Adam Duvall of the Braves earns Box-Toppers Player of the Game honors for the second straight day Monday.
Duvall (HR 1-2 3R BI in the 9-5 win over the Nationals) was also NL Batter of the Day Sunday (2HR 2-3 2R 3BI in the 5-3 win over the Pirates). Duvall earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point Monday and 1.5 points Sunday, giving him 3.5 for the season, 12th among NL batters.
