Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta is Wednesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.
Plus, Nolan Gorman of the Cardinals extends his lead among National League batters in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning NL Batter of the Day honors Wednesday.
Player of the Day
Peralta struck out 13 over six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and no walks, in the 3-0 win over the Reds. Peralta did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the game was in a scoreless tie when he exited.
Peralta earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 8.7 for the season, 19th among all players and ninth among National League pitchers.
American League Player of the Day
Dylan Moore of the Mariners hit two home runs, including a three-run shot, in the 8-7 win over the Twins. Moore went 3-for-4, scoring twice and driving in four runs.
Moore earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and is 74th among AL batters.
National League Batter of the Day
Nolan Gorman of the Cardinals hit two home runs and went 3-for-5, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 11-7 win over the Diamondbacks.
Gorman earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being NL Batter of the Day, giving him 9.0 for the season, 15th among all players and extending his lead among NL batters, ahead of second-place James Outman of the Dodgers (6.7).
Gorman now has the most 2023 Box-Toppers points among all players who are exclusively batters, passing Aaron Judge of the Yankees (7.5). He trails Shohei Ohtani of the Angels (13.9), who ranks first among AL batters, but who has earned 6.7 of his points as a pitcher and 7.2 as a batter.
American League Batter of the Day
There is no separate AL Batter of the Day for Wednesday because the overall AL Player of the Day is batter Dylan Moore.

About Box-Toppers
Box-Toppers tracks who most helps their team win the most games. Using standard box score statistics, Box-Toppers uses a simple formula to determine a Player of the Game for each Major League Baseball game played. That player is the person who contributed most to his team’s win. In regular season games, players earn 1.0 Box-Toppers point for being named Player of the Game and can earn bonus points for being Player of the Day or top player or batter in their league for the day.
