Phillies pitcher Zack Wheeler is Tuesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day, rising to third place in season player rankings.
Wheeler struck out seven over seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks, in the 3-0 win over the Twins. Wheeler did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the game was in a scoreless tie when he exited.
Wheeler earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 13.7 for the season, rising from seventh to third place among all players, behind Padres pitcher Dylan Cease (14.4) and Yankees pitcher Luis Gil (14.4).
