Rangers pitcher Nathan Eovaldi is Wednesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Eovaldi struck out 10 over seven innings, allowing two runs, four hits and no walks, in the 10-2 win over the White Sox.

Eovaldi earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 10.0 for the season, 13th among all players and eighth among American League pitchers.

Eovaldi becomes the 13th player this season to reach 10 Box-Toppers points. It is his second season with 10 or more points. Previously, he had 14.1 points in 2021 with the Red Sox, sixth among AL pitchers. In 2023, he had 9.7 points with the Rangers, 30th among AL pitchers.

National League Player of the Day is Giants pitcher Robbie Ray.

National League Player of the Day

Giants pitcher Robbie Ray allowed no hits over five innings, striking out eight and allowing one run and two walks, in the 8-3 win over the Dodgers.

Giants relievers gave up five hits to the Dodgers after Ray’s exit.

Ray earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, his first points of the season, and is 106th among NL pitchers.

This was Ray’s first appearance after May 2023 elbow surgery that kept him out for more than a year. He exited Wednesday after 86 pitches.

Ray last earned Player of the Game honors Sept. 3, 2022, with the Mariners, a season in which he earned 14.4 Box-Toppers points, 11th among AL pitchers.

Though Ray and Eovaldi both had +9.0 Box-Toppers game scores Wednesday, Eovaldi beat Ray for overall Player of the Day honors because he had more innings pitched—seven vs. five.

National League Batter of the Day is Jacob Stallings of the Rockies.

Jacob Stallings of the Rockies hit a three-run home run, two doubles and went 3-for-4, scoring three times and driving in four runs, in the 20-7 win over the Red Sox.

American League Batter of the Day

There is no separate AL Batter of the Day for Wednesday because no AL batter won Player of the Game honors in the 15 games completed. However, six NL batters did win Player of the Game honors.
