Reds pitcher Hunter Greene is Saturday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.
Also Saturday, Aaron Judge of the Yankees increased his lead among American League batters in 2024 Box-Toppers points after earning Player of the Game honors.
Player of the Day
Greene struck out 11 over six scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk, in the 6-4 win over the Giants.
Greene earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 7.7 for the season, 45th among all players and 19th among National League pitchers.
American League Batter of the Day
Twins pitcher Bailey Ober struck out seven over seven innings, allowing two runs, two hits and two walks, in the 6-2 win over the White Sox.
Ober earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 10.4 for the season, 13th among all players and seventh among AL pitchers.
Ober becomes the 17th player this season to reach 10 Box-Toppers points. It is his first season with 10 or more points. In 2023, he had 8.7 points with the Twins, 35th among AL pitchers.
American League Batter of the Day
Zach Neto of the Angels hit a three-run homer and went 2-for-3, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 5-4 win over the Mets.
Neto earns 1.5 Box-Toppers points for being AL Batter of the Day, giving him 6.0 for the season, ninth among AL batters.
National League Batter of the Day
There is no separate NL Batter of the Day for Saturday because no NL batter won Player of the Game honors in the 15 games completed. Six batters won Player of the Game honors Saturday but they were all from the American League.

Aaron Judge of the Yankees increased his lead among American League batters in 2024 Box-Toppers points after earning Player of the Game honors Saturday.
Judge (HR 2-3 2R 2BI in the 8-3 win over the Blue Jays) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 11.0 for the season, 11th among all players and first among AL batters, ahead of Juan Soto of the Yankees (9.5 points).
Judge is the only batter with 10 or more Box-Toppers points. He is only 0.1 points behind 10th-place player, Royals pitcher Seth Lugo (11.1). No player serving solely as a batter has finished the season in the overall top 10 since 2013, when Miguel Cabrera of the Tigers finished eighth with 16.9 points. (Shohei Ohtani of the Angels ranked third overall in 2023 with 19.4 points earning 9.7 points as a pitcher and 9.7 as a batter.) Between 1995 and 2009, batters routinely finished in the top 10 each season except 2005.

This is Flaherty’s third season with 10 or more Box-Toppers points. He also did it in 2018 with the Cardinals when he had 13.1 points (ninth among NL pitchers) and in 2019 with the Cardinals when he had 16.5 points (fifth among NL pitchers).
