Gonzalez lost a no-hit bid in the ninth inning, pitching eight scoreless innings, allowing one hit, three walks and striking out five, in the 1-0 win over the Marlins.

American League Player of the Day—Jake Marisnick of the Astros hit two homers, including a three-run shot, in the 14-7 win over the Rays. Marisnick also doubled and went 3-for-4, scoring four times and driving in five runs.
