Also Friday, Yankees pitcher Luis Severino reclaims first place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors. Plus, Athletics pitcher Sean Manaea rises to sixth place in player rankings after he earns Player of the Game honors.

Player of the Day—Tillman pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing one hit, two walks and striking out five, in the 6-0 win over the Tigers.

National League Player of the Day—Cubs pitcher Yu Darvish struck out eight over six innings, allowing one run, three hits and two walks, in the 3-2 win over the Brewers. Darvish picked up a no-decision and did not pick up the win because the Brewers tied the game after he exited.

Manaea (7IP 4H R BB 7K W in the 8-1 win over the Astros) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 5.7 for the season. He ranks fourth among AL pitchers.

Debut—Pirates pitcher Tyler Glasnow made his Box-Toppers debut Friday with his first career Player of the Game honor.

Glasnow (3IP 2H 0R BB 4K ND in the 6-5, 11-inning win over the Cardinals) made his Major League debut July 7, 2016, and was playing in his 29th career game. He is the 3,948th player to debut in Box-Toppers since record keeping began in 1995.
