Also Saturday, Gleyber Torres of the Yankees rises to first place among American League batters in Box-Toppers points after earning Player of the Game honors.

Player of the Day—Yarbrough struck out 10 over 6 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and no walks, in the 1-0, 13-inning win over the Tigers. Yarbrough did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the game was in a scoreless tie when he exited.

Yarbrough earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 10.4 for the season, 26th among all players and 12th among AL pitchers.

Yarbrough becomes the 28th player this season with 10 or more Box-Toppers points. It is his first season with 10 or more points. In his only previous season, 2018 with the Rays, he had 7.0 Box-Toppers points, 42nd among AL pitchers.

National League Player of the Day—Christian Yelich of the Brewers hit two home runs and went 5-for-6, scoring three times and driving in four runs, in the 15-14, 14-inning win over the Nationals.
