Rays pitcher Jeffrey Springs is Sunday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.
Springs struck out 12 over six scoreless and hitless innings, allowing one walk, in the 5-1 win over the Tigers.
Springs was pulled after 81 pitches despite the no-hitter and Rays reliever Colin Poche gave up a hit to his first batter in the seventh inning.

National League Batter of the Day—Nolan Gorman of the Cardinals hit two home runs and went 2-for-4, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 9-4 win over the Blue Jays.
