Yankees pitcher Marcus Stroman is Saturday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Stroman struck out five over six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk, in the 4-1 win over the Padres.

Stroman earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 3.0 for the season, 75th among all players and 37th among American League pitchers.

National League Player of the Day

Giants pitcher Jordan Hicks struck out eight over five innings, allowing one run, two hits and two walks, in the 7-2, 10-inning win over the Mets. Hicks did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the Giants trailed when he exited.

Hicks earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 4.4 for the season, 39th among all players and 17th among NL pitchers.

Hicks had a +7.0 Box-Toppers game score Saturday, the same as Stroman. But Stroman beat Hicks for overall Player of the Day because he earned the win in his game, while Hicks picked up a no-decision.
