Tigers pitcher Jack Flaherty is Thursday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Thursday, Juan Soto of the Yankees increases his lead among American League batters in 2024 Box-Toppers points after earning Player of the Game honors.

Player of the Day

Flaherty struck out nine over 6 2/3 scoreless inning, allowing one hit and one walk, in the 5-0 win over the Red Sox.

Flaherty took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before giving up a hit with one out in the seventh inning.

Flaherty earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 5.0 for the season, 34th among all players and 17th among AL pitchers.

National League Player of the Day is Francisco Lindor of the Mets.

Francisco Lindor of the Mets homered and went 4-for-4, scoring once and driving in two runs, in the 3-2 win over the Diamondbacks.
