Brewers pitcher Tobias Myers is Wednesday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day.

Also Wednesday, Cubs pitcher Shota Imanaga rises to fifth place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors.

Player of the Day

Myers struck out six over eight scoreless innings, allowing four hits and one walk, in the 9-0 win over the Pirates.

Myers earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 5.0 for the season, 95th among all players and 42nd among National League pitchers.

American League Player of the Day

Astros pitcher Framber Valdez struck out 10 over seven innings, allowing one run, six hits and one walk, in the 9-1 win over the Marlins.

Valdez earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being AL Player of the Day, giving him 5.7 for the season, 63rd among all players and 28th among AL pitchers.

American League Player of the Day is Astros pitcher Framber Valdez.

American League Batter of the Day

Ernie Clement of the Blue Jays hit a three-run homer and went 3-for-4, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 10-6 win over the Giants.

National League Batter of the Day

Sam Hilliard of the Rockies hit two home runs and went 2-for-4, scoring twice and driving in three runs, in the 6-5 win over the Reds.

Hilliard had a +3.0 Box-Toppers game score Wednesday, the same as another NL batter winning Player of the Game honors: Eugenio Suarez of the Diamondbacks (HR 2B 2-4 2R 3BI in the 7-5 win over the Braves). But Hilliard beat Suarez for NL Batter of the Day honors because he hit more home runs—two vs. one.

National League Batter of the Day is Sam Hilliard of the Rockies.

Cubs pitcher Shota Imanaga rises from eighth to fifth place in Box-Toppers season player rankings after earning Player of the Game honors Wednesday.

Imanaga (6IP 6H 0R BB 6K W in the 4-0 win over the Orioles) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 11.7 for the season.

He ranks third among NL pitchers, behind Chris Sale of the Braves (12.4) and Zack Wheeler of the Phillies (11.7). (Though Wheeler and Imanaga both have 11.7 points for the season, Wheeler ranks higher because he has more 2023 points—14.7 vs. 0.0.)
