Twins pitcher Bailey Ober is Friday’s Box-Toppers Player of the Day, rising to sixth place in season player rankings.
Also Friday, Brenton Doyle of the Rockies extends his 2024 Box-Toppers points lead among National League batters after earning Player of the Game honors.
Player of the Day
Ober struck out nine over six scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks, in the 6-3 win over the Guardians.
Ober earns 2.0 Box-Toppers points for being Player of the Day, giving him 12.4 for the season, sixth overall and third among American League pitchers, behind Tarik Skubal of the Tigers (16.1) and Luis Gil of the Yankees (15.4).
National League Player of the Day
Diamondbacks pitcher Ryne Nelson struck out nine over 7 1/3 innings, allowing two runs, three hits and one walk, in the 3-2 win over the Phillies. Nelson did not earn the win, picking up a no-decision, because the Phillies tied the game after he exited.
Nelson earns 1.7 Box-Toppers points for being NL Player of the Day, giving him 7.4 for the season, 25th among NL pitchers.
National League Batter of the Day
Willson Contreras of the Cardinals hit two home runs, doubled and went 3-for-4, scoring twice and driving in four runs, in the 8-5 win over the Royals.
American League Batter of the Day
There is no separate AL Batter of the Day for Friday because no AL batter earned Player of the Game honors in the 15 games completed.

Brenton Doyle of the Rockies extends his 2024 Box-Toppers points lead among NL batters after earning Player of the Game honors Friday.
Doyle (HR 2B 2-4 2R 2BI in the 6-5 win over the Braves) earns 1.0 Box-Toppers point, giving him 9.7 for the season, 24th overall and first among NL batters, ahead of second-place Francisco Lindor of the Mets (8.4).
